Biography
Chase began fighting at the age of 13, but did not turn pro until March 2007.
He attended Torrance High School and was a part of the winning league wrestling team. He went to college at Montana State University - Northern and Lindenwood University, where he was a NAIA All-American Wrestler.
On June 3, 2009, it was announced that Gormley would be facing former IFL star Ben Rothwell at Affliction: Trilogy, which was set to take place on August 1.[1] However, after Affliction folded, the bout was reportedly moved to UFC 104,[2] and Gormley's opponent was later changed to Stefan Struve.[3] He lost to Struve by first round submission.
In his next UFC fight, Gormley faced Brendan Schaub on March 21, 2010 at UFC LIVE: Vera vs. Jones.[4] Gormley lost via first round TKO. He was cut from the UFC after the pair of back-to-back losses and he signed with Canadian promotion Maximum Fighting Championships.
