Charleston Comedy Festival

Charleston Comedy Festival

The Charleston Comedy Festival is an annual 4-day festival of the arts which produces comedy, and theatre.

The Festival is held in Charleston, South Carolina in the second week of January every year.

The Festival was created in 2004 at Theatre 99, by the Have Nots! improv group, and has slowly expanded to multiple venues and more shows over the years.

In its first year, it was just one week of local comedy acts, but in 2005 the theatre teamed up with Charleston City Paper to expand their reach and put on a full-blown festival inviting acts from all over the USA to perform.

The 2009 festival (Jan 14th to 17th) is the biggest one yet with 36 shows spread over 4 days in 6 different venues.
