In his only first-class innings Sparrow made eight runs and took a single wicket in the Cambridge University innings.
Yaldren served in the First World War. He became a part of the Lost Generation when he was killed in action in the First Battle of the Somme at Thiepval, Picardie, northern France on 23 October 1916. Yaldren was 24 years old at the time of his death.
