Playing career
Rattray, known by the nickname "Jazz", played for Fleetwood Windsor Villa, Blackpool, Watford and Mansfield Town before joining Port Vale in May 1937. He made 22 league and 3 cup appearances in the 1937–38 season, but was given a free transfer in May 1938. He moved on to Accrington Stanley and Fleetwood.[1]
