Life and career

In his late teens, Knight left New Zealand and moved to London, where he started work in the film and television industry. Over the years, he has worked as an actor, stuntman, writer and producer.[1] Charles is also a member of the PGA (Producers Guild of America).[2]

Charles developed a keen interest in stunt work during his time working with Koichi Sakamoto on the Disney series Power Rangers,[3] where they worked together for 7 years. As a result, his more recent works have focused on action based drama series.

Charles currently co-produces with legendary filmmakers Rob Tapert and Chloe Smith.

In 2006 Knight started performing in live action stunt shows [4] and in 2010 started working on action based games, in particular, gaming for the iPhone platform.[5]

Trivia

CannonBall Run 2011

Knight is a licensed arms dealer, military vehicle importer and pyrotechnic specialist. Most of the guns and vehicles used on the Tankboy TV series are part of his personal collection.[7][8]

In October 2009, Knight was involved in an incident involving one of his military vehicles. While taking a tank for a spin, a friend accidentally got injured when the tanks turret turned and squashed her, breaking four of her ribs.[9]

In Jan 2011, Knight lead a team for his first try at the prestigious CannonBall Run car rally. His team, "Team Tankboy" took third place. The vehicle they entered into the rally was his own ex-US Army, Humvee, making it the first time a Humvee had been used on the CannonBall Run.[10][11]
