Charles Edward Miller II (born March 6, 1970), is the founder and Executive Director of WestCoast Basketball Academy (www.westcoastbasketballacademy.com). Charles has established himself as a coach and personal basketball trainer having coached and trained since 1997.[1]
Charles was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Charles Miller and Pamela Miller and has a younger brother Duaine and a younger sister Melissa. As a kid growing up in Utah he fell in love with the game of basketball while going to Westminster College and Utah Stars basketball games with his father.[2]
Charles attended Judge Memorial High School in Salt Lake City and played on the school’s varsity basketball team. In 1988 as a senior he was named to the All-State Team as the team finished 3rd in the state tournament and 3rd the Alhambra Catholic Invitation Tournament (ACIT)in Cumberland, Maryland. Charles went on to play collegiately at the University of Puget Sound where he was named an All-American in 1993. He went on to have a short pro career with stints in Europe, the CBA and with the Denver Nuggets.
After his playing career ended, Charles went on to being a successful business man. He started his business career with Best Consulting and went on to start his own consulting firm (CII Consulting). As founder and principal of CII, Charles built business relationships with Nike, Starbucks, Boeing and other fortune 500 companies. In 2006 Charles took the position of VP of Operations with Entellium and was with Entellium through 2009. In October 2009 Charles joined Vertafore (www.vertafore.com) as Director of Business Operations.[3]
Charles is married to Krista VY Miller (Vander Yacht) and together they have two sons Trey & Jaxon.
