The Protea Emperor or Protea Charaxes (Charaxes pelias) is a butterfly of the family Nymphalidae, found in South Africa.[1]
The wingspan is 60–70 mm in males and 65–75 mm in females. It has successive broods from September to April.[2]
Larvae of Charaxes pelias feed on Hypocalyptus obcordatus, Osyris compressa, Osyris lanceolata, and Rafnia species.[2][1]
