Chapel of Saint Agrippina di Mineo

Chapel of Saint Agrippina di Mineo, is one of two Catholic Churches, dedicated to the Christian Saint of the Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church, Agrippina of Mineo or sometimes known as Saint Agrippina.

The church is also the headquarters of the St. Agrippina Di Mineo Society and is located in North End, Boston, Massachusetts. St. Agrippina Di Mineo Society is a society that raises money and helps with the maintenance of the church. The church was originally built in 1914, from Italian migrants in particular from Sicily who had settled in Boston. The migrants who had built the church were in particular from the Sicilian town of Mineo. Saint Agrippina is the Patron Saint of Mineo and is a significant Saint in Sicily.

Every year, between late July and early August, the Chapel of Saint Agrippina di Mineo, celebrates the feast day of Saint Agrippina in the calendar of the Catholic Church. This church has been celebrating the feast day of the Saint since the church was built in 1914.

In Boston’s North End, a large popular public festival occurs celebrating the life of Saint Agrippina. People in Boston consider Agrippina as a significant Saint. Many people as a custom to renew their faith and devotion visit the festival and show their respect and honor the statue of Saint Agrippina that is present at the yearly festival. Many of the customs that occur in the festival, originate from the other chapel of Saint Agrippina located in Mineo, when their yearly festival occurs.
