Release and reception

The album peaked at twenty-five on the U.S. Billboard 200 and topped the R&B Albums chart.[1] The album was certified gold by October of 1994.[2]

Alex Henderson of Allmusic considered the album's songs to be likable though undistinctive, still believing however that the group's debut "let listeners know that Changing Faces had potential."[3]
