Purisima is the current Philippine Secretary of Finance.[1] On June 29, 2010, President Benigno Aquino III picked him as his Secretary of Finance.[2] He held this post before in the administration of Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo before he resigned amid the president's alleged involvement in the 2005 Hello Garci Scandal.[3]
Background
Before being appointed by Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo as her Finance Secretary, he was chairman and managing partner of SGV & Co. He was also a member of the Global Executive Board and Global Practice Council of Ernst & Young.[4]
