Youth clubs

Vaičulis started his career in the local youth club FK Auda. His second youth stop was one of the best Latvian clubs - Skonto, where he spent a long time. In the last seasons with Skonto, Vaičulis also trained with the first team but didn't make any first team appearances. In 2006 he decided to leave Skonto, joining the Scottish side St. Mirren. It was a great step forward that gave him a chance to join the Scottish giants Rangers a year later. Vaičulis mostly played for the Rangers youth team and was also involved in some of the reserve team's matches. Of course, it was difficult for him to get into the first team and after some impressive starts he was released in 2009.

AEP Paphos

During the summer transfer window Vaičulis joined the Cypriot side AEP Paphos, starting his real professional career. He made his debut in a league match against Ermis Aradippou in April 2010. He collected 2 caps, while playing for Paphos, playing his second match in the next row of the championship against Doxa Katokopia. After the season, in July, he left the team, becoming a free agent.

AEL Limassol

After leaving AEP Paphos, Vaičulis departed from Cyprus but he soon returned, this time for Limassol side, AEL, which was looking for a young goalkeeper. Vaičulis went through a trial session and the manager Mihai Stoichiţă decided to add him to the squad in the middle of October, 2010. At the start of 2011 he was released.

International career

Vaičulis is a member of Latvia U-21. He has also played for Latvia U-19 and Latvia U-17.
