Formerly The American Community School, England, ACS International Schools based in London, England were founded in 1967. We serve international and local communities. The schools are non-sectarian and co-educational (day and boarding) for students from 2 to 18 years of age. We educate a multinational student body in accordance with American and internationally recognised educational principles and practices.

We inspire our students to become successful lifelong learners and responsible global citizens. We promote high standards of scholarship and challenge all members of the community to fulfil their potential.

Curriculum

All ACS campuses are International Baccalaureate (IB) World Schools, offering the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP). ACS Egham is one of only three schools in the UK to offer also the IB Middle Years Programme (IBMYP), and the IB Primary Years Programme (IBPYP).face|date=June 2008

ACS students perform consistently well on the IB exams. In 2008, the three campuses achieved a combined 99% pass rate—19 percentage points higher than the average pass rate across all students who sat the IB worldwide (80%). 93% of ACS students scored a Grade 4 or higher, and 14% achieved the equivalent to over five A grades at A-level based on the official UCAS conversion tariff. According to the International Baccalaureate Organization, just 5% of students worldwide achieve a score of 40 or above on their IB exam.

IB Scores Sorted by year

All ACS campuses offer an American High School Diploma, with ACS Cobham and ACS Hillingdon also teaching Advanced Placement (AP) courses in subjects such as Spanish, Economics (micro and macro), Psychology, Computer Science, English Literature and English Language.

ACS also provides an international language curriculum, including English as an Additional Language (EAL) and Native Language Enrichment (NLE) programmes in a very wide range of languages.

Note: ACS Hillingdon is currently in the process of converting to the MYP Programme, they already offer the IB Programme but are extending on this.

Campuses

ACS International Schools currently has 3 campuses. These are ACS Hillingdon International School, ACS Egham International School, and ACS Cobham International School. Hillingdon has an enrollment of 600 students, Egham 600 and Cobham 1,400.

Facilities

All schools have state-of-the-art facilities that support academic, athletic, and arts programmes. Each campus comprises period buildings enhanced by modern, purpose-built classrooms, libraries, cafeterias, and sports facilities. The Cobham campus also features a dormitory that houses over 100 students from around the world.

Extracurricular Activities

ACS International Schools encourage every student to engage in a rich and diverse student life. Each school supports a range of extracurricular activities, sports, field trips, community service and visiting artist programmes for both day and boarding students from Pre-K to 12th grade.

Activities and field trips include unique trips like the Model United Nations in Beijing, social studies trips to Florence and Ypres, English and drama trips to Shakespeare’s Globe and other London theatres.

Students also participate in many local and international community activities including Habitat for Humanity and Mission Antarctica, as well as ongoing projects to Argentina, India, Zambia, Kenya, and Namibia.
