The high energy costs and emphasis by Governments of various Countries are encouraging the usage and development of alternate energies for the running of Petrol stations [Nigeria] [Photograph] . The Government of India has a separate Ministry for New and Renewable Energy [MNRE] . Also the US Department of Energy has separate Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy group [USEERN] .
Various Oil Companies have started using Solar Energy for the Operation of Petrol Stations [Amoco] [BP Amoco] [BP] . Indian Oil Companies like IOCL, BPCL and HPCL have also started implementing the solar technologies for operation of Petrol Stations / Retail Outlets. Tata British Petroleum and Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited have implemented the solar technologies at approx 20 Petrol Stations each in India.
