Richie Sambora Stratocaster

Richie Sambora Stratocaster

The Richie Sambora Stratocaster is an "Artist Series" electric guitar made by Fender for Bon Jovi lead guitarist Richie Sambora. It was introduced in 1991, updated in 1999 and taken out of production in 2002. Available in Japanese, American and Mexican-made versions, this signature Fender Stratocaster guitar came in Snow White, Cherry Sunburst, Black Paisley, Olympic White, 3-tone Sunburst, Vintage White, Black, Lake Placid Blue, Arctic White and Candy Apple Red.

This guitar featured an alder body, a 1-piece maple neck/fingerboard with 22 medium/jumbo frets, "graduated" abalone star position inlays, a 3-ply white pickguard, Schaller die-cast tuning machines, locking strap buttons and an original Floyd Rose locking tremolo bridge. It also had two Fender Texas Special single-coil pickups in the neck and the middle positions and a DiMarzio PAF Pro humbucking pickup in the bridge, as well as a 25dB active mid-boost circuit with TBX tone controls and an active/passive push-push switch. The Japanese version shared the same features as the American-made model, but doesn't had the active mid-boost circuit.

In 1999, the Sambora Strat has been updated with American Vintage hardware, 12dB mid-boost circuit with no-load tone controls, small star fingerboard inlays and three dual-coil ceramic Hot Noiseless pickups. Fender discontinued this guitar in 2002.

Richie Sambora Standard Stratocaster

The Richie Sambora Standard Stratocaster, introduced in 1994, was manufactured in Mexico and featured an alder body, 3-ply white pickguard, a Floyd Rose II vibrato and a rosewood fingerboard with 21 medium frets. It also came with two standard alnico single-coils and a DiMarzio PAF Pro humbucker in the bridge position. Fender stopped making the guitar in 2002.
