High Altitude Platforms

"High Altitude Platforms" HAPs are stratospheric airships or planes that will be operating at 17km to 20 km height. HAPs will have the ability to be deployed within a short period of time and have the potential to provide communication services to a large number of users over a wide area.

Such platforms can be used for providing:

1. Wireless Communications1.1 Video Telephony1.2 Video Conferencing1.3 High Speed Internet Access1.4 Digital Video Broadcasting

2. Surveillance and Security1.1 Real time video monitoring of hard to reach areas1.2 Environmental Monitoring
