Pickleville, Utah

Pickleville, Utah, was a small town located near the shores of Bear Lake, 121 miles northeast of Salt Lake City. It is now part of Garden City, Utah.

The town of Pickleville was originally founded in 1879, about three miles south of Garden City. It was named for Warren W. Pickle, who secured the funding for a culinary water project. To further expand a water system, Pickleville combined with Garden City in 1890.

Since 1916, the Pickleville area has been home to the Ideal Beach Amusement Company. The Pickleville Playhouse, a community musical theater, has been in business since 1977.
