Yangxin County ( _zh. 阳新县) is a county within the
prefecture-level city ofHuangshi in China's Hubei province. It occupies the southern half of the Huangshi "prefecture-level city", bordering on theJiangxi Province in the south, and with the Tongshan County of theXianning prefecture-level city in the west. TheYangtze River flows along the county's eastern border.The southern part of the county is hilly; it is part of the
Mufu Mountains .The main transportation artery of the county is currently the
China National Highway 106 , which, within this county, is also counted as theChina National Highway 316 . A railway fromWuhan toJiujiang , Jiangxi, runs through the Yangxin town as well.The county is mostly rural, but more prosperous than its neighbor, Tongshan County.
