Barceló is the name and brand of a variety of rums from the Dominican Republic produced by Barceló & Co., S.A. Barceló and the other Dominican rums, Bermúdez and Brugal, are collectively known as the three B's. Barceló has its distillery in Santo Domingo.

History

Barceló has its origins in 1929 when Julián Barceló, a Majorcan entrepreneur, arrived in the Dominican Republic. A year later he opened a distillery, Barceló & Co., in Santo Domingo. At first he sold his rum from a pickup truck.

In 2000, Barceló and a group of Spanish entrepreneurs created Barceló Internacional, S.A. with the purpose of opening new markets to the company.
