The first Mayan Palace was inaugurated in Acapulco, Mexico. This Mayan Palace gave Grupo Mayan international recognition by being one of the first hotels in Mexico to resemble what we know today as a resort. This opening additionally made Grupo Mayan one of the most renowned groups in Latin America for its resorts featuring extensive green areas, lakes, and pools. The second Mayan Palace to open was Mayan Palace Puerto Vallarta, which was previously known as Vidafel. This hotel was completely rebuilt after a powerful earthquake in the state of Jalisco, and was rebranded into a Mayan Palace, making it the second hotel in the chain. Soon after various other Mayan Palace luxury resorts opened in various Mexican beach destinations. Mayan Palace became the premier Grupo Mayan property and the reason behind the parent company's rebranding into its current name, Grupo Mayan.

The Mayan Palace Hotels broke away from the traditional hotel schemes and designs existing in Mexico at the end of the 80’s and 90’s; always seeking to be avant-garde, they established guidelines for both Mexican architecture and the hotel industry itself, bringing the design parameters used in the Mayan civilization to the present age. Both the Acapulco Mayan Palace and the Nuevo Vallarta Mayan Palace have two of the largest pools in the world.

Most of the Mayan Palace luxury resorts have an Albatross Golf Courses and several restaurants and bars including a wine bar in Nuevo Vallarta, the Sun Set Club and Lounge in Puerto Vallarta and the Beach Club in Acapulco where many celebrities have been spotted including the world famous singer Luis Miguel.

Mayan Palace Acapulco is located in Punta Diamante in Acapulco, Mexico. The resort is located five minutes from Acapulco International Airport and 20 minutes from the center of Acapulco. It has the Copra Golf Course by Albatross Golf Courses, a clubhouse, restaurant and pro shop. It also has 12 lighted clay tennis courts where many national tournaments are held and a gym. Mayan Palace Nuevo Vallarta is situated in Nuevo Vallarta in Nayarit, Mexico, along the Banderas Bay. Mayan Palace Nuevo Vallarta is located 15 minutes away from Puerto Vallarta International Airport. The resort is located inside the Grupo Mayan property next to The Grand Mayan. Mayan Palace is additionally located inside Nayar Town, currently under construction and featuring a Jack Nicklaus design golf course. Mayan Palace Puerto Penasco is located inside the Grupo Mayan property in La Jolla de Cortes. The resort is situated on a peninsula with a tidal estuary La Pinta that fills up twice a day. The local geography, and mix of desert, mountains and blue ocean give this Mayan Palace its architectural base. The Mayan-themed architecture here blends with a Santa Fe style, to create a unique Mayan Palace. In addition, this Mayan Palace is located only an hour away from the US Mexico Border of Arizona. Like other Mayan Palace resorts, this one also features a Brio Health Spa and Fitness Center, a gym and free wi-fi in some areas. La Jolla de Cortes location of this Mayan Palace provides its guests with exposure to the natural phenomena known as a sandstorm several times a year. The Albatross Golf Course, named Peninsula de Cortes Golf Course in this hotel was featured in Jack Nicklaus' 2008 calendar opposite the month of February.

Mayan Palace Puerto Vallarta is located inside the Grupo Mayan property in Puerto Vallarta Marina. It was built after a Vidafel property suffered structural damage in a Jalisco earthquake, and hence demolished to allow for the construction of a Mayan Palace branded hotel. The luxury hotel is located only five minutes away from the Puerto Vallarta International Airport. It includes two restaurants, the Sun Set bar and lounge and a large entertainment bar area with pool tables. Mayan Palace Puerto Vallarta is a popular wedding destination for many hotel guests. Grupo Mayan formed a contract with Cartier and opened the first authorized Cartier distributor in Puerto Vallarta inside the Mayan Palace Puerto Vallarta. Mayan Palace also featuresa gym and a convenience market.

Mayan Palace Mayan Riviera

The Mayan Palace Riviera Maya is located inside the Grupo Mayan property in the Mayan Jungle only 35 mintues away from the Canun International Airport (CUN). This resort has the El Manglar Albatross Golf Course by Jack Nicklaus. It also includes various restaurants in which one of Mexico's top chefs works. The hotel also has various pools overlooking the ocean or the lake and many pool bars and snack areas. Mayan Palace Mazatlan

The Mayan Palace Mazatlan is located in one of the first areas where the company Grupo Mayan, formerly Vidafel, built its first hotels. It is a small, comfortable hotel with several restaurants and bars. It is located 30 minutes from the international airport and is one of the favorite Mayan Palace hotels for some of its first customers.
