Saint Alberts High School

St Alberts is a coeducational Roman Catholic Church mission high school which also provides boarding for students. It is situated in the Mashonaland Central provice of Zimbabwe, on the escarpment overlooking the Zambezi Valley in northern Zimbabwe near the Mozambique border. School Administration

The school is managed by Father superior; Fr. Vitalis Murombedzi, under the Diocese of Chinhoyi.

History

The school was founded in the 1970s by the Jesuit society of the Roman Catholic Church.

Father Croft

Fr. Croft designed and produced several science equipment items for the Zim-Sci Project that was developed in Zimbabwe in the years of rapid expansion of secondary education in the early 80s. He co-authored Science for Zimbabwe, one of the first science textbooks written after independence in 1980. He retired in 1991 and continued with his passion for Physics at St Alberts in Mt Darwin, then moving on to St Boniface in Magunje. He died peacefully in Garnet House Harare in 2000.
