Coach Sappho is a relationship coaching service that provides web and phone-based relationship coaching created especially for women in lesbian relationships.

History

The website was started in 2001 by Barb Elgin, who is the founder of Be A Success Enterprises. Elgin is a licensed in both Florida and Maryland as a clinical social worker. The website began because Elgin was unhappy with the lack of relationship resources for women. This website created a new forum for relationship coaching, and is one of the only websites with this type of focus.

Site owner Barb Elgin also provides services as a motivational public speaker and has given speeches all over the country including Maryland, Florida, and Texas [ http://www.thisweekintexas.com/artman/publish/Tele-Seminar.shtml] . She is a member of the Human Rights Campaign, and is Founder and Leader of the Gay Business Owner’s Referral Network. Coach Sappho has a live podcast that is broadcast live every second and third Wednesday of the month. The broadcasts are streamed live by the Coach Sappho website.
