The Combat Medic is called a 'Soldier Medic' officially. They are soldiers first, but if a teammate is wounded, they are transitioned to medic. So, the Medic will carry basically what a Rifleman or other soldier carries. His Basic Equipment is usually:
A MOLLE Vest; A "Flak Jacket; The Army Combat Uniform; A Kevlar Helmet; Usually a CamelBack; Their primary weapon (Usually an M16A3 or variant, or an M4A2 or variant); A 9mm Service Pistol; Footwear
Weapons
A Combat Medic is not usually heavily armed, but of course, since he does not openly have a Red Cross, or insignia he is a combatant due to the Geneva Convention.
