Japanese minelayer Itsukushima

nihongo|"Itsukushima"|厳島| was a minelayer of the Imperial Japanese Navy launched in May 1929. She was the first Japanese warship to be equipped with only diesel engines as propulsion.

On 17 October 1944, "Itsukushima" was sunk in the Java Sea after being hit by a torpedo fired by the Dutch submarine warship|HNLMS|Zwaardvisch|P322.
