- John Mills (1789-1871)
John Mills (11 August 1789 – 18 February 1871) was a British soldier and politician.
He was the eldest son of William Mills, a director of the
Honourable East India Company , and the elder brother ofSir Charles Mills, 1st Baronet .Mills was educated at Harrow and

verderer of theNew Forest , and served as ConservativeMember of Parliament for Rochester from 1831 to 1834. He wasHigh Sheriff of Hampshire in 1839, and was appointed adeputy lieutenant in 1846.
