Patrick Hicks (1970- ) is Writer-in-Residence at
Augustana College and his work has appeared in international publications including, "Ploughshares", "The Utne Reader", "Commonweal", "Glimmer Train", "Indiana Review", "Tar River Poetry", "Poetry East", and "Nimrod". He is the author of three chapbooks, a book of non-fiction called "Brian Moore and the Meaning of the Past", as well as full length collection of poetry called "Finding the Gossamer" (Salmon Poetry, 2008). Aside from being a Visiting Fellow at Oxford, he has been nominated several times for the Pushcart Prize and he has won a variety of grants to support his work.Hicks was born in
Charlotte, North Carolina , but raised inStillwater, Minnesota . Much of his fiction takes place in Minnesota, but his poetry often discusses his experiences in Northern Ireland, Germany, and Spain. Hicks is a dual citizen of the United States and Ireland.
