indie folk band fromFredericton ,New Brunswick . Formed in 2006, the band consists of Nick Cobham (guitar, bass, vocals, keyboard) Graeme Walker (guitar, bass, vocals, keyboard), Kyle Cunjak (guitar, bass, vocals, keyboard). Touring members frequently include Dennis Goodwin (guitar, synths), Bob Deveau (drums).The Olympic Symphonium is a unique collaboration between three accomplished Maritime musicians. With the hopes of forming a quiet escape from their accustomed high-energy rock/pop projects, the idea of this group was to focus more on the subtle, gentler side of music.
The group's debut album, Chapter 1, was released in February 2007. After recording over the past year the band is set to release their follow-up album, More In Sorrow Than In Anger. This 10 track collection is set to be released in November, 2008. Notable Canadian musicians appearing on the album include Catherine MacLellan, Dale Murray (Cuff The Duke),
Jenn Grant , Joel Leblanc (Hot Toddy) and Rose Cousins.. The three members, Nick Cobham, Kyle Cunjak and Graeme Walker, all share singing and songwriting duties, while also uniquely contributing to the instrumentation. The album opens with a piano/classical guitar duet and moves through beautiful, melodic pop to soft, slow yearnings and dramatic string-laden stories of personal contemplation.Lately the Olympic Symphonium have secured funding from FACTOR and the New Brunswick government, earned consistent airplay on national CBC and campus radio and were lucky enough to have shared the stage with artists such as
