Alrewas Arts Festival

Alrewas Arts Festival is a free, bi-annual festival held in early September in the Staffordshire village of Alrewas.

Festival 2006

This first festival took place between Saturday 16th and Saturday 23rd of September.

The festival brought together more than 20 village artists and craft workers who volunteered to share their skills and run “have-a-go” sessions. In addition, over 100 local performers took part in a variety of events, from poetry and drama to classical music and dance.

Festival 2008

The second festival took place between Saturday 6th and Saturday 13th of September.Amongst other projects completed for the festival were a 10-foot-high youth willow sculpture; a giant multi-image tile mosaic; a film documenting the making of the canal, entitled "A Cut Through Alrewas"; and a big art session held outside the local shops.
