Western Australian Youth Parliament

The Western Australian Youth Parliament Program is cordinated by the YMCA of Perth and is apart of a nation wide youth parliament model. [http://sites.google.com/a/youthparlwa.com/western-australian-youth-parliament-2-/Home] The program involves young people from all over Western Australia who meet in the capital city of Perth in the Western Australian Parliament for the discussion of Youth Parliament Bills. These bills are passed on the Western Australian Government for consideration.The Program acts as at the most senior Youth Adviosry body to the Western Australian Government.

Youth MP's

Youth Members of Parliament are elected to the Youth Parliament to represent there electorate and Local Member of Parliament. They spend 3 days in the Legislative Assembly to discuss, debate and amend bills [http://www.mediastatements.wa.gov.au/Pages/CurrentMinistersSearch.aspx?ItemId=130505&minister=Ravlich&admin=Carpenter] of issues that are of importance to the states Youth.

Youth Governor

The position of Youth Governor is apointed by the Youth Parliament taskforce to oversee the election proccess and appoint a youth government. The Youth Governor also ensures that the composition of the Youth Parliament reflects that of the Western Australian Parliament

2008 program

The 2008 Western Australian Youth Parliament program was supported by the Carpenter Government and funded by Lotterieswest [http://www.mediastatements.wa.gov.au/Pages/CurrentMinistersSearch.aspx?ItemId=130505&minister=Ravlich&admin=Carpenter] . [http://www.youthparlwa.com] . The program consisted of just under 50 Youth MP's who represented electorates from accross Western Australia [http://sites.google.com/a/youthparlwa.com/western-australian-youth-parliament-2-/YP-2008/Youth-Members-of-Parliament] . It had six committees and had a left wing Youth Government led by Cameron Barnes.
