Arthur Grom Parham [ [http://www.npg.org.uk/live/search/person.asp?LinkID=mp75382 NPG details] ] (born 25 June 1883 [ Who was Who1897-2007: London, A & C Black, 2008 ISBN ISBN 9780199540877] ;died 10 January 1961 ["Obituary- Rt Rev AG Parham" The Times Tuesday, Jan 10, 1961; pg. 10; Issue 54975; col F] ) was the Anglican Bishop of Reading [The Times, Monday, Jun 01, 1942; pg. 6; Issue 49250; col C "Ecclesiastical News: Consecration of the Bishop of Reading"] from 1942 until 1954. He was educated at Magdalen College School, Oxford then Exeter College in the same city and ordained in 1910. Beginning his ministry with a curacy at Bromley he was then appointed Chaplain of Magdalen College, Oxford [A period interrupted with wartime service as a Chaplain to the Forces during which he was twice Mentioned in Despatches and awarded the MC] . When peace returned he became Rector of Easthampstead , then Rural Dean of Reading [ [http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/a2a/records.aspx?cat=005-drdr&cid=0 Berkshire Rural Deaneries at the National Archive] ] and finally (before before his elevation to the Episcopate) Archdeacon of Berkshire [ [http://www.purley.eu/H3P/YB.pdf Archdeacons of Berkshire] ] . In retirement he continued to serve the Church as an Assistant Bishop within the Diocese of Oxford.
