Clonliffe/Holy Cross College, in Drumcondra was founded in 1854 as the Catholic diocesan seminary for Dublin by Paul Cardinal Cullen (1803–78) [ [http://multitext.ucc.ie/d/Paul_Cullen Cardinal Paul Cullen, Multitext Irish History project ] www.ucc.ie website] The College is situated in Drumconrda, adjacent to the residence of the Archbishop of Dublin, just south of Croke Park Stadium. The Mater_Dei_Institute_of_Education College is beside Clonliffe College.
The National University of Ireland, Maynooth validates a number of diplomas and certificates conducted at clonliffe.A number of Dublin Diocesan bodies such as Crosscare are based in Clonliffe College.
