Bengali Indians come mostly from the Indian states of Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal, and are usually Hindus or Muslims.

There is a small number of Tamil and Telegu Indians in London. Most of them are Hindus, even though there is a minority of Muslims.

Hinduism: The largest Hindu temple outside of India, the Shri Swaminarayan Mandir is located in Neasden, London. The number of Hindus in London is around 450,000, of which most are of Indian descent.
Sikhism: London is beside Toronto the largest and wealthiest Sikh community outside of India. Sikhs are UK's most successful ethnic group. They mostly live in West London, Southall is the heart of the community.
Islam: Around 20% of Indians in London are Muslims. They are a very successful community, much wealthier and better established than other Muslim groups in London, like the Somali or Bangladeshi community. They have their headquarter in Tooting in South London. They have strong connections to the Pakistani Muslim community of London. Most of the came from East Africa or Jamaica, but also from Gujarat or Bombay.
Christianity: There is also a small number of Christian Indians in London. Most of them are from the states Kerala and Goa.
Parsi: The Parsi community, which mostly comes from the state of Gujarat or from Bombay, is also a famous Indian community in London.
Indians in West London
In West London, close to the Heathrow airport, resides UK's largest Indian community.Southall is the most famous Punjabi community outside of South Asia. It has a Indian/Pakistani percentage of 75%. Southall Broadway is popular for its Indian shops, cinemas and restaurants. You may not see a single White face if you walk around the street.Most of Southall's residents are Sikhs, the percentage of turban wearing men is very high.A famous Indian residential area is Hounslow. Its residents are well established.Wembley is London's Gujarati capitol. Ealing Road is full of Gujarati shops and jewelleries. Wembley's main religion is Hinduism, although there is a sizable Gujarati Muslim community and a small Sikh community.Harrow ranks number 3 at London's borough in Indian communities. The majority of Indians in Harrow are Hindus.Hillingdon and Hammersmith & Fulham have also rich Indian communities.

Indians in East London mostly reside in the boroughs of Newham, Redbridge, Greenwich and Waltham Forest. Most of its community are of Hindu faith, there is a large Sikh community and a small Muslim minority.Green Street in East Ham has many Indian shops, although most of the areas residents are Pakistani British.
Indians in South London
South London's Indian community is predominantly concentrated in London's largest borough, Croydon and in Tooting.Most of South London's Indian community is of Hindu faith, there are sizable Muslim and Sikh communities.Tooting in the borough of Wandsworth, is home to a large Gujarati Muslim community. Tooting Broadway is often compared to Southall Broadway in Southall, although its shopping centre is much smaller.In Croydon, Indians take a strong place in society.
