Marion Model and Talent Agency
Marion Model and Talent Agency, also know as MMTA, is a training facility for actors, models, singers and performers. Depending on an agencies concentration decides what that particular agency is going to be teaching. Marion Model and Talent Agencies main focus is developmental training and placement in the entertainment industry. MMTA was founded by Marion Webb and opened in March of 2005. Like other industry-focused agencies, MMTA has talent signed all over the world. These are a few of the major markets that model and talent agencies are involved in, New York, LA, Chicago, Atlanta, Paris, London, Milan and Asia.
Mother Agent:
According to the Marion Model and Talent Agency website, [www.mmtagency.com] Marion Webb is a mother agent, which is someone who develops talent to place in the entertainment industry and retains a percentage. After the process of when a model, actor, or singer is developed by going through training; a mother agent shops them around to different agencies in national and international markets. A mother agent stays with her talent throughout their career and provides protection through the industry.
Workshops:
Workshops are similar to a class someone would participate in to further their knowledge about acting, modeling, and performing. Like other agencies, MMTA uses workshops for training purposes. A workshop in an agency may consist of a variety of topics concerning the industry; some of those workshops lead up to a showcase, which is where people with the agency showcase their talent in front of agents.
Comp Cards, Reels, Resumes and Head Shots:
In most talent agencies, Comp Cards, Reels, Resumes and Head Shots are required to have by anyone who wants to be in the entertainment industry, but not all are required for one person and this also depends on what a person is pursuing. These are required, so that booking agencies are able to view work that a person has done because in this industry, agencies want people who are prepared with experience. A comp card displays two to four photos to show work models have done; this is how most models in the industry get booked for jobs. Reels and resumes are what actors have to show work they have done; this is how actors get booked for jobs. A Head Shot is only one photo that is used by actors and performers to show a closer view of their face.
