Charles Thomas Abraham

The Rt Rev Charles Thomas Abraham was the second Bishop of Derby from 1909 [New Suffragan Bishops The Times Monday, Sep 13, 1909; pg. 10; Issue 39063; col F] until 1927. Born in 1857 he was educated at Keble College, Oxford [ [http://www.green.gen.name/furse/D1.htm Family tree] ] . Ordained in 1881 he began his career with a curacy at St Mary’s Shrewsbury [ [http://www.stchadschurchshrewsbury.com/stmarys.html Church details] ] and was subsequently Vicar of All Saints, Shrewsbury then Christ Church, Lichfield before succeeding Bishop Were as the Southwell Suffragan. His father [ "Bishop Abraham Memorial " The TimesTuesday, Mar 31, 1903; pg. 15; Issue 37042; col B] and son ["Obituary-The Bishop Of Newfoundland Right Rev. P. S. Abraham" The Times Saturday, Dec 24, 1955; pg. 9; Issue 53412; col A] were also Bishops; another son was killed in action during the First World War [ [http://www.roll-of-honour.com/Derbyshire/Bakewell.html Bakewell Roll of Honour] ] .
