- Klaus Hottinger
Klaus Hottinger was a shoemaker born in
Zollikon in 1467. A disciple ofZwingli he overthrew in 1523 a wooden crucifix near the town ofZurich . He was as a consequence banished from the city in november 1523. He was executed inLucerne on the 26 of march 1524, and thus became the first martyr of the Swissprotestantism movement.References
