Allied Security Trust (AST) is a member based patent holding company that helps protect members from patent infringement lawsuits from non-practicing entities. Business

Allied Security Trust (AST) is a patent holding company that is member based. Members each contribute to a pool of money that is used to buy patents. There is also an annual membership fee. Licenses are also offered to non-members. After a certain period of time, the patents are sold or donated. This is know as a catch and release strategy. AST does not litigate.
