Ghastly City Sleep is a post-rock band whose sound incorporates traits of dream pop and other types of textural ambient music. Several members were previously in bands of confrontational musical nature, although this is not evident in GSC's amorphous, generally restrained sound. They have toured the U.S. with bands such as Junius and Pygmy Lush.

The band has thus far released one 34-minute mini-album / maxi-EP, which was released on CD as well as on four different colors of vinyl. An already-recorded full length album scheduled for a late 2008 or early 2009 release.
