The Spiral of Life [Duke, Wendy Christine (2008). "Spiral of Life - A Guidebook For Your Journey", Cloud Haven Studio Incorporated, ISBN 978-0-9818693-0-8 [http://cloudhavenstudio.com/spiraloflife.html Spiral of Life] ] describes a method for organizing a set of forty-one revealed images based on the Nordic Runes. These images are called the "Spiral-of-Life Images" to distinguish the individual images from the original runic glyphs.
In the Sprial Of Life system, the images are presented on cards which can used in many ways such as
divination [Blum, Ralph (1993). "The Book of Runes : A Handbook for the Use of an Ancient Oracle: The Viking Runes with Stones", St. Martin's Press, 10th anniversary edition, ISBN 0-312-09758-1.] , as an oracle using an approach similar to that used with the I Ching [Legge, James (1996). "I Ching: Book of Changes", Grammercy, ISBN 978-0517149904.] , or to gain insight into situations or subjects such as is done withTarot cards [Place, Robert (2005). "The Tarot: History, Symbolism, and Divination", Tarcher, ISBN 978-1585423491.] .The importance of this system is that it extends the number of basic images and provides an organizing structure to those images thereby creating a new and comprehensive system of divination that addresses all aspects of human existence.
The Spiral Of Life was revealed to Wendy Christine Duke — an intuitive artist who receives spiritual insights through drawings — over a period of eighteen months. She explored the meaning and organization of the forty one Spiral-of-Life Images for over twelve years and created a set of Spiral-of-Life Cards for use in readings. The actual, three-dimensional Spiral Of Life image allowed her to understand the relationship of the cards to each other and to the journey of a human through life.
The Spiral of Life cards provide access to the issues of importance to the person selecting the card and provide a "you are here" location on the overall pathway described by the Spiral of Life.
