IE University is a private Spanish university located in the province of Segovia (Castilla y León). Created as an extension of IE Business School’s learning model to undergraduate education, its new degree programmes are run in English and Spanish and are compliant with the European Higher Education Area (Bologna Accord).

There are currently 1,400 students at IE University and faculty comprised of 190 Spanish and international professors. The campus comprises 18,000 m2 of classrooms, workshops, laboratories, radio and television studios, conference halls and communal areas.

History

In January 2007, IE (Instituto de Empresa) acquired SEK University in Segovia with the aim of creating IE University. The main University campus buildings are housed by the former Convent of Santa Cruz la Real, a 13th century building, restored in the 15th century and declared a national heritage site in 1931.

Location

The University campus is a five-minute walk from the Aqueduct of Segovia, by the river Eresma and just outside the city walls that surround the old quarter of Segovia.
