In the first book
Inkheart , Elinor welcomes her nephew-in-law Mo and grand-niece Meggie in her huge home to mend the books. She then embarks on an adventure with them, to bring back Mo and stop an evil man named Capricorn. Elinor swears revenge on him as he burnt all her precious books. Elinor also gets caught by Capricorn but she is able to find her niece, Teresa (Meggie's mother) in the prison.Helen Mirren is slated to play Elinor Loredan in Inkheart the movie.
