June 29, 2004 – August 7, 2007Preceded by Pierre Frogier Succeeded by Harold Martin Personal details Born 1950 Political party Future Together Marie-Noëlle Thémereau (born 1950) is the former president of the government of New Caledonia, an overseas territory of France in the Pacific Ocean. She is a member of the loyalist (i.e. anti-independence) Future Together party ("Avenir ensemble"). She was elected by the Congress of New Caledonia in 2004 after defeating the long-time ruling loyalist party RPCR (Rally for Caledonia in the Republic) and its chief Jacques Lafleur. Thémereau resigned on July 24, 2007.[1]
She was succeeded in the Congress by Pascal Vittori.
