The St. Louis Cardinals' 2009 season will be the 128th season for the franchise in St. Louis, Missouri and the 118th season in the National League. The Cardinals begin their season at home against the Pittsburgh Pirates on April 6. St. Louis is coming off a 86-76 season and fourth place in the NL Central, only the third time since the 1999 season that they missed the playoffs.
