Kongthin Pearlmich

Kongthin Pearlmich is said to be a British artist of East Asian descent, and—according to his spokesman—although one of the world's most expensive artists, is relatively unknown due to his reclusive nature. His spokesman said that Pearlmich does not sell his art on the open market, preferring to sell directly to private buyers, and that in 2008 one of four versions of a triptych entitled "The Man Delusion", depicting the crucifixion, was sold for $125 million (£69.7 million) to an American buyer: its name is a reference to Richard Dawkins' "The God Delusion" and it is made up of three carvings of Christ created from marble, pearls, rubies, and diamonds in front of painted backgrounds. Other versions of the triptych have been offered to Canterbury Cathedral and the Vatican.

The name of "Kongthin Pearlman" was not known by experts at Sotheby's and Christie's auction houses.
