Mystery Spot (Supernatural)

"Mystery Spot" is one of the episodes in "Supernatural" in Season 3.

Plot

Sam and Dean track down a haunted house where people seem to just go in and never come out. On a Tuesday Sam wakes up to Asia's "Heat of the Moment", the two then have breakfast at a local diner. The waitress drops a bottle on the ground. The two break in late at night, but are caught by the house owner with a shotgun. The owner kills Dean out of fear. Sam goes to his aid saying "No! not like this."

Sam wakes up, to the same song as "yesterday," to the same Asia song. everything seems to happen exactly the way it happened "yesterday." Dean's "Rise and shine, Sammy!" when he wakes up; the way Dean gargles his water when he is brushing his teeth; Dean orders a "Pig an' a Poke" special; even the bottle dropped by the waitress, which Sam catches. Dean says "Nice reflexes," then Sam tells him that he remembers all of what has happened "yesterday" is happening today. Dean says it might've been a vision but Sam says it's too vivid.

The two then head down the street. Sam insists that they not go tonight. Dean thinks Sam is crazy, and he begins to think the same. But Dean agrees not to go, then heads out in the middle of the street in front of Sam, where he is hit by an old man from the diner.

Sam wakes up again, immediately after Dean's death. the events go as they normally did. His theory now is that he is caught in some type of "time warp" and can't get out. While the two head down the street, Sam pulls Dean from the middle, making him barely miss the old man in the car. Now Dean doesn't think Sam is that crazy anymore. almost immediately afterwords, a piano falls on him, crushing him.

The "next day" at the diner, after Sam explains to Dean what is going on, Sam has the idea that they just need to make it through the day and the warp will be over. He changes his order with bacon to sausage, but chokes on it after the first bite.

Sam tries everything to make it through the day with Dean. He leaves him at home but Dean is electricuted while putting a plug to an outlet. They go back to the mystery spot and tie the owner up while Sam hacks away at the house, hoping to find something. Dean confronts him to try and calm him down, grabbing the axe. The two get in a feud and Sam accidently kills Dean with the axe.

Sam eventually remembers all the events of the day. He pig-pockets the old mans keys, catches the bottle, even remembering the exact words that come out of Dean's mouth at the exact time. while walking on the street, Dean runs into a girl (as predicted by Sam) and notices she's holding missing flyers and confronts her. a little bit later, a dog barking then growls at Dean, then attacks him.

While in the diner, Sam notices the old man got a different order today. The two follow and confront him with a knife. Dean thinks Sam is acting crazy but Dean knows what's going on. It is the work of a Trickster they seemed to kill an another episode, but he reveals himself to the two. the Trickster explains that this joke is on Sam, not Dean. He makes a deal with Dean that he will not bug them again if they let him live. Dean says "It'd be easier just to kill you." With a snap of the Trickster's fingers, the is able to evade them.

Sam wakes up, but not to Asia. he realizes it is now Wednesday. he hugs Dean and tells him that they're leaving. No breakfast. While Dean is packing the car, he is confronted by a man with a gun, who shoots him.

6 months later, Sam is driving the car. Bobby tries calling Sam dozens of times but he never answers. Sam has been hunting Demons on his own. eventually, Bobby calls telling Sam "I found him." Sam travels back to the mystery spot. Bobby has set up a ritual setting and tells Sam they need about a gallon of blood to summon the Trickster. Sam does not hesitate to say he'll do it, which breaks Bobby's heart. He dragged Sam back here to see if he really has changed since Sam's untimely death. He realizes that he isn't going to convince Sam otherwise, and offers himself to be the victim they must sacrifice. Sam accepts, only because he knows it isn't really Bobby.

The Trickster reveals himself, telling Sam he's trying to tell him something by playing with him. There's just no way of saving Dean. Sam begs the trickster to take him back to that Wednesday. the Trickster excepts, knowing that Sam won't come near him again.

Sam wakes up, hugs Dean, and tells him that they're leaving. No breakfast. while getting dressed Dean talks to Sam, telling him that he looks a little out of it. Sam says he just had a weird dream. Dean replies, "Clowns or Midgets?"
