Bakyt Beshimov

Bakyt Beshimov (Russian: Бактыбек Жолчубекович Бешимов; born September 13, 1954, Alai, Kyrgyz SSR, USSR) is a leader of parliamentary fraction and deputy chairman of Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan. He is married and has two sons.

Beshimov graduated from the History Faculty of Kyrgyz State National University in 1977. In 1991-1996 he was rector of the Osh State University. In 1999-2005 Beshimov served as ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to India.

In 2006-2008 Beshimov served as the vice president of the American University in Central Asia.

In December 2007 he was elected to Jogorku Kenesh - parliament of Kyrgyzstan on the candidate list of the Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan.
