Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 70th District and was elected in 2006. He currently sits on the House Environmental Resources and Energy, Local Government, Urban Affairs, and Intergovernmental Affairs Committees.Career
Prior to his election to the House, Moyer served as regional representative for the deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of Education. In 2001, Gov. Tom Ridge appointed Moyer to serve as deputy secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection, where he helped large and small communities across the Commonwealth. Prior to that appointment, Gov. Ridge appointed Moyer as the southeast regional director of the Department of Revenue.
Moyer was twice elected as Montgomery County’s treasurer. As treasurer, he made Montgomery County one of only eight counties in the Commonwealth to merge its treasurer’s office with its tax claim office, saving the county over $100,000 a year since 1998. He was also elected chairman of the Lower Salford Township Board of Supervisors, where he helped preserve the village of Harleysville, and played an active role in preserving hundreds of acres of open space. Personal
Moyer served in the U.S. Air Force from 1966-70, achieving the rank of sergeant.
Moyer holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Syracuse University and has done post-graduate work in business at Temple University.
He resides in Lower Salford Township with his wife. They have one grown daughter, Christine, a reporter who lives in the Chicago area.
