The Maharashtra State Legislative Council the Maharashtra Vidhan Parishad is the bicameral legislature of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is situated in the Nariman Point area of South Mumbai in the capital Mumbai. Members of the upper house, the Legislative Council are indirectly elected through an electoral college. Members of the Legislative assembly are directly elected by the people. The budget session and the monsoon session are convened in Mumbai whereas the winter session is convened in the auxiliary capital Nagpur.
