Monte PlataThe Miss Mundo Dominicana 2009 was hand-picked by the Organization of Miss Dominican Republic and the franchiser responsible to send a Dominican representative to the Miss World 2009 beauty pageant. The Miss Mundo Dominicana 2009 pageant was postponed due to lack of money and sponsors. Instead they hand-picked the Miss Republica Domincana Universo 2009 first runner-up, Ana Rita Contreras Sosa from Bayaguana, Monte Plata.[1] Miss Mundo Dominicana 2010 will be held in December 2009 and then will send the winner to Miss World 2010.[dated info][2] The Official representative will have her official press presentation on October 21, 2009 in the Jet Set Café in the city of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. The Miss Mundo Dominicana 2009 is 25 and has a height of 5'6". Ana Rita is a graduate with summa cum laude honors in Architecture at the Universidad Iberoamericana de Santo Domingo and a graduate of the modeling academy "The Femme Elegant". Contreras also studied for her masters at Columbia University of New York City.
