Kānehoalani of Oahu

Kānehoalani of Oahu was a High Chief of Oahu and Distric Chieftain or King of Koolau. Kānehoalani means "Kāne's Heavenly Companion". [http://www.kualoa.com/history.htm] He was the son of Lo Alii Kaholialale and Princess Kohe-palaoa of Oahu. Through his mother he was grandson of King Piliwale and first cousin of Queen Kalaimanuia. His rule over Koolau derived through his wife, the High Chiefess Kualoakalailai of Koolau. With Kualoa-ka-laokinailaokinai he had a daughter named Kaunuiakanehoalani, who later became the consort of Kaihikapu-a-Manuia.
