Ryszard Zator

Ryszard Zator (b. April 7, 1954 in Strzelce Krajeńskie) – is a former activist of the Polish anti-Communist movement Solidarity.

In 1973, after graduating from the local vocational technical high school, he started working as a mechanization specialist. In 1980 he joined the Solidarity anticommunist movement and organised strikes. For his activity he was arrested by the Communist regim in December 1981, and spent 14 months in jail. During this time close friend of his accidentally found out that Maria, Ryszard's wife, was cooperating with the secret police (Służba Bezpieczeństwa).

After divorce in 1984 Ryszard Zator emigrated to North Bend, Washington where he has been living until today. He is locally known to be an alcohol addict, but refuses any help.
