website=Mike Clay, known by the
ring name Mikey Mossburg, is an American independent professional wrestler, best known for his work in International Wrestling Alliance (Based out of Columbus, Ohio).Career
Before Wrestling
Clay was attending high school in Columbus, Ohio and met Stefan Basich (aka
Death Adder ) who informed him of a local wrestling school he was attending. Realizing the potential he possessed, Basich introduced Clay to promoter/owner"Wild" Bull Miller . After a try-out match, Clay signed an agreement with Miller to pay for training in the Youth Wrestling Alliance (under 18 division) of the International Wrestling Alliance.Early Career
In early 1998, Clay was training 2-3 days a week in Miller's wrestling school which at the time was being instructed by
Chip Allgood ,Roadblock , and Miller himself. While training, he was given the opportunity to perform in front of crowds on Miller's monthly "Gym Wars" shows as well as small shows in Chillicothe and Washington C.H., Ohio. He adopted the name Kris Krusher while working these shows. While able to put on technical matches, Krusher was more of a hardcore/brawler-style wrestler, which made his in-ring persona of a grungy, disenfranchised youth more believable.Career after Miller
After spending two years with Miller's promotion, Krusher had decided to move on. Miller had hit a slump and as a result was putting on less shows and paying his workers less money. Krusher started to take bookings with any small promotion that would book him. Most of these shows were small and ran by fly-by-night promoters looking to make a quick buck. In a match during 2001 in Chillicothe, Ohio, Krusher attempted a moonsault off of the balcony and as a result fractured two vertebrate in his neck and was advised to quit wrestling.
During his Hiatus
Krusher took doctor's advice and gave up on wrestling. With no marketable job skills, Krusher turned to a life of crime and began dealing drugs while working part-time as a property inspector for a small local real estate firm. After a few run-in's with the law and rival drug dealers, Krusher decided to move away from his hometown and move to Scottsburg, Indiana with a friend. While living in Scottsburg, Krusher discovered that
Corporal Robinson was also residing in this small rural town. Not knowing many people in town, Krusher befriended Robinson and began to travel on the road with him, attendingIWA Mid-South shows ran byIan Rotten as well as shows forColiseum Championship Wrestling in Evansville, IN. Robinson taught Krusher the in's and out's of locker room politics and ethics as well as how to work a microphone in front of a crowd (a skill Krusher had lacked before). Robinson later moved away to Milwaukee, WI and shortly after Krusher also moved out of Indiana and back to Columbus, Ohio.Back In The Saddle Again
After rehabilitating his injuries, Krusher decided to change his name, gimmick and persona to make a comeback. Now known as Mikey Mossburg, he lost the grunge look and adopted a new look in homage to his mentor (Robinson). Mossburg is currently working exclusively for Ohio Hatchet Wrestling (Based out of Athens, Ohio) and is scheduled for an upcoming match in which he will be tag teaming with
Viper againstCorporal Robinson andMad Man Pondo .Outside The Ring
Mossburg resides with his girlfriend and their 3 year old son in Columbus, Ohio. Mossburg is a
Juggalo and can be seen frequently attending Gatherings and various other Psychopathic Records events such asJuggalo Championship Wrestling and Hallowicked, as well as local shows in Columbus, Ohio.In wrestling
